During the Seollal holidays, locals typically travel to their hometowns to spend time with family. Please keep in mind that many places, including restaurants and tourist spots, in Seoul may be closed, so check to see if they're open before you head out!

Public Transportations

As most Koreans travel to their hometowns during the break, less traffic is expected in Seoul, and some subway lines and buses operate for an extended hours. If you're looking to travel to other cities, however, expect heavily congested highways and nearly fully booked trains and express buses.
