Jeju Aqua Planet Hanwha Aquarium spans 25,600 square meters and is recognized as one of the world’s top 10 largest aquariums, with a total water capacity of 10,800 tons. Home to approximately 48,000 marine creatures, the aquarium features remarkable species including whale sharks, dolphins, giant sharks, and thousands of vibrant fish. Visitors enter through the second floor, where themed exhibits recreate Jeju Island and the Five Oceans, showcasing representative marine life from around the world. On the first floor, the theme “A Magical Encounter Between the Ocean and the Jungle” presents seals, penguins, and tropical species in a lush, three-dimensional environment. The Ocean Adventure zone recreates the feeling of exploring a rainforest, while the touch pool allows children to interact safely with selected marine creatures for an unforgettable hands-on experience. The basement level houses the spectacular main tank known as the “Sea of Jeju Island,” measuring 23 meters in length and 8.5 meters in height.
