2014 DITTO Festival – Different DITTO ‘Thus, the Night’

Since 2012, DITTO has proudly presented the Different DITTO series for contemporary music. They have playeddemanding pieces of Steve Reich, Olivier Messiaen, Huang Ruo, John Adams and George Crumb.

The theme for this season is 'night,' with a sub-title 'Thus, the night.' Opened by Mozart's EinekleineNachtmusik, Ensemble DITTOand the Parker Quartet will perform Dutilleux's string quartetAinsi la Nuit(Thus the night) and Schoenberg'sVerklärteNacht (Transfigured Night). The concert will begin at 2PM, and fascinating visual performances are arranged in order to guide the audience into the middle of the night.

This season, Richard Yongjae O'Neill, Stefen Jackiw and Michael Nicolas is rejoining and also the 2011 Grammy Award-winning Parker Quartet is coming back to Korea afterthree years. The audiences will beseeing the collaboration of these outstanding musicians and how they deliver the beautiful musical pieces.
