Summary
The school is abuzz on the first day of the semester after the summer vacation, as boy clique T-Bird, led by Danny, and the girl clique Pink-Lady led by Rizzo are talking about what they did during the summer.
Frenchy from Pink-Lady introduces Sandy, a new girl in the school, to Rizzo. The boys listen to Danny talk about his flaming love affair with a girl on the beach, and the girls listen to Sandy talk about her romance with a boy.
When Sandy says the name of the boy is Danny Zuko, the girls bring Sandy and Danny together.
When Danny sees Sandy, he turns away embarrassed, scared that he’ll be caught for his bluffing. Sandy is upset and Danny tries to apologize to Sandy and tell her how he really feels. But Patty, who has a crush on Danny, keeps on intervening, and worsening the relationship between Danny and Sandy. While Sandy and Danny continue to misunderstand each other, the school holds a dance party.
Will Sandy and Danny come to open up their hearts and be honest with each other?
