INTRODUCTION

Ballerina Who Loved a B-boy is a no-verbal musical show, written and directed by Yun-Yeop Choi. The production made its debut in December 2005 at Korea's first B-boy theatre in Seoul, Hongdae. Since then, it has been staged in stages worldwide, producing national and international acclaim and acknowledgement.

Featuring World B-boy Champion Extreme Crew, the show is based on a story of a ballerina falling in love with a b-boy which unfolds throguh a dynamic collaboration of different dance genres such as breack dance, jazz, popping and ballet. Everyone is welcomed to enjoy this show that is full of energy and excitement, allowing the audience to sway to the rhyhtm and beats off their seats.

 

SYNOPSIS

During rehearsals, Ballerinas frequently get disrupted by the heavy noise from a hiphop square, nearby. This leads to a scene of dancing genres showdown, as both ballet and street dancers battle to outdo one another. Watching the b-boy dance, ballerina falls in love with him and grows into his world. The show ends with the ballerina giving-up her ballet career and becoming a hip-hop dancer for love.
