MOGWAI

By trusting the senses,
A dynamic presence is felt in the midst of silence,
Whilst a whisper of Scotland’s definite beauty is portrayed in full.

Brushing off being labeled as a post-rock band, Mogwai’s music is neither white nor black, but expressed in a color that truly penetrates the ear and heart. The genre can be defined individually by all those who listen, making it all too easy to get lost in their music and have it related on a more personal basis.

Mogwai, recognized as a post-rock band, was formed in 1995 in Scotland, Glasgow with 5 members consisting of Dominic Aitchison (bass), Stuart Braithwaite (guitar, vocal), Martin Bulloch (drum), Barry Burns (keyboard, computer, guitar), John Cummings (guitar, computer). Receiving critical acclaim from their debut album, along with a reputation of holding great live shows, the band was first signed by Glasgow’s indie label, Chemikal Underground, releasing the albums, Mogwai Young Team (1997) and Come On Die Young (1999).

In 2000, Mogwai had signed with PIAS, with much control and network over Europe, releasing with them the albums Rock Action in 2001. Afterwards, the band had decided to release the album Happy Songs For Happy People (2003), with much more focus on its electronic components and sounds. Soon thereafter, Mogwai began constantly working to release new materials without much of a break in between, including their 5th studio album, Mr Beast (2006), a sound track – Zidane: A 21st-century Portrait, The Hawk Is Howling (2008), Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will (2011), A Wrenched Virile Lore (2012), etc., all the while taking part in multiple tours and gaining inspirational reputation as an Artist.

This band, full of energy, had released an EP, Les Revenants in 2013, and they now have plans to release their 8th studio album, Rave Tapes in January of 2014. Not only so, with the release of their new album, Mogwai will be jump starting their live tour in Korea and Japan prior to their dates in the USA, holding much anticipation and expectations!

DAUGHTER

A 3 piece hybrid band from the UK, Daughter, is led by the unique and attractive vocalist Elena Tonra. With the successful release of an EP in 2010, Daughter had made their name known by having the song featured on popular dramas (USA) such as Grey’s Anatomy, The Vampire Diaries, etc. The band had released their 1st album, If You Leave, in March of 2013, and has ever since taken part in multiple renowned festivals all over the world.
