Kim Junsu: From an Idol Star to a Genuine Artist
Ranked the most talented of idol stars, Kim Jun-su officially kicked off his solo career in 2010 and chose musical acting as his new path. The idol, more commonly known as Xiah Junsu, successfully transformed as Wolfgang Mozart in the musical Mozart!
The musical recorded a sold-out show of all 3,000 seats at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, and the musical drew its curtains in fervent praise from the press, audiences and the musical world.
The musical prodigy returned from his role as Mozart and is coming back as Kim Junsu for a musical concert. The idol-cum-performing artist will confirm his truly brilliant talent at this concert, presenting a much more mature musical capability as Korea’s leading artist.

The First Meeting with Kim Junsu’s New Songs, a Present from Sylvester Levay

Sylvester Levay, the composer of musical Mozart! ranked Korea’s Mozart! as the best performance ever among the many countries that produced the license musical. He was amazed that despite the short rehearsal time, Kim Junsu was able to demonstrate the kind of performing and singing that most closely matched the original author’s intention. When Levay returned to Vienna, he searched for Kim’s information about his past career activities as a group member.

Since then, Levay started composing new songs forKim. Their collaboration will be demonstrated in the spectacular Kim Junsu Musical Concert, in which Kim will perform the new songs and Levay himself will accompany Kim on the piano.

The Hot Issue of the Musical World 2010: Viennese Musical Mozart! meets Elisabeth

Premiered in January 2010, the Viennese musical stirred a new trend in the Korean musical world. The Viennese musical was recognized of its musicality and quality of work through Mozart!, and was followed by much public interest on musicals like Elisabeth and Rudolf.

At this concert coming up, Kim Junsu will present highlights from the musical Mozart!, such as I cannot Escape my Fate and I am I am Music. Also featuring in the concert will be Korea’s top musical actors who were at the premiere performance: Suh Beom-seok, Min Young-gi, Shin Young-sook, Bae Hae-sun and Jung Sun-ah.

Furthermore, Kim Jun-su will join up with Park Eun-tae and Chun Dong-seok to introduce to Korea for the first time, the highlights from the representative Viennese musical Elisabeth, coming up in 2010.
