Hantan River Spa Hotel

Is this place very old? It is clean but shows wear. Stayed one night, so-so~~~~

I really like it. The sauna is great, and it's perfect for sightseeing nearby.

Check-in was friendly and the room was clean, so I had a pleasant stay.

It's old but fine for staying one night; the spa is nice.

Overall, as a hotel it is good. However, I thought it would be better if a few convenience items were provided in advance. It would have been nice if a toothbrush and small toothpaste were supplied... disposable shower towels and basic bathroom amenities are lacking. Even motels provide separate shampoo and conditioner. Since they offer one free use of the sauna/onsen, you could buy items there or go to a nearby convenience store, but from a guest perspective that is quite inconvenient and negatively affects the travel experience. The view from inside looking out is nice, but when I saw our room location, everything was visible from outside, which was a bit worrying. Structural or basic improvements seem necessary.

I visited Cheorwon by chance during a trip, and despite the building age, I was very satisfied with the facilities, cleanliness, and location. It was very clean for its age, located in a quiet area, and each room has full windows with a good view. One disappointing thing was the attitude of the male staff working at night. When I said the hotel is nice and the facilities are better than expected, he responded with a stern face, saying, "It's a hotel so of course it's good." It was embarrassing. Sometimes a blunt or curt response like that is more uncomfortable than outright rudeness. Given that this staff member is present, I probably would not return.

I took a day off on Friday, January 30, and visited the Hantan River Spa Hotel. I was pleased to see the hotel lobby decorated nicely. Although the property is older, it was very clean and the room floors were so warm. My husband said it was his style and liked it. We visited the nearby Hantan River Jando Trail and the waterfront path, and it was truly healing. We met a squirrel on the trail, which made us happy. Hantan River is a place I want to visit again.
