I visit Gwangju regularly, and each time I stay at accommodations in the Sangmu district. This was my first time using Onyu; it is clean, has good facilities, and is quiet. Overall I liked it, so I plan to book again the next time I go to Gwangju.
I visited on a business trip. It was clean and nice.
The sandwich served for breakfast is very tasty. The breakfast really exceeded expectations. The exterior of the property is pretty, and the interior was really neat and clean.
I book accommodation in this area whenever I travel for work to Kim Dae-jung Convention Center. Among them, I prioritize Onyu Hotel the most; I was familiar with this place because I often used it even before the remodeling. It has been remodeled very neatly so it feels comfortable, the wood-toned rooms are cozy, and the owner is friendly. I have stayed at many other places around here, but I thought this place's breakfast style was the cleanest. Rather than rice and side dishes, they had simple Hangang ramen, bread, sandwiches, and drinks well prepared, so it was perfect for eating breakfast without feeling burdened.
The condition of the accommodation is pretty good. The bathroom shower head is old so water leaks at the connection, and the unused towels have a slight distinctive smell. It wasn't a big problem, so I just stayed one night and left.
Quiet and nice....
Just so-so. If you only need a place to sleep and leave early, it's passable.
