Daejeon Jung-ri Palms

I booked thinking "I won't even unpack, just sleep," but this is the first place where I couldn't sleep at all and left. The bedding seemed unwashed and there was a smell as if they had never aired the place out since opening, so I sat down to rest for a moment and then left.

Owner, I'm almost 40 years old.... You asked my age several times like I was a minor.... Thank you. You are a business genius. If I come to Daejeon to watch baseball and need to stay one night, I'll come here again. You're the best. The room price was cheap so this was my second visit, and I will continue to be a regular customer...

The soundproofing was a bit weak, but it was fine for resting for a day during my schedule.

I'll skip everything else — I turned on the air conditioner and every time the air blew out, clumps of dust, like black charcoal pieces, kept flying out. I had to throw away the comforter, they even blew onto my body, and I was afraid I might get an illness I didn't have before, so I was scared to sleep. I consider cleaning and hygiene basic, so I'm giving just one star.

There was a strong smell, and the parking lot is cramped — about four cars can park.

A place where you literally cannot even sleep We checked in and left running in less than an hour Both of us were extremely itchy for the entire one-and-a-half-hour ride home Also the hygiene was absolutely terrible (listed below) As soon as we entered, there was a used Perio disposable toothpaste tube thrown in the bathroom and the tooth-rinse cup was filled with water The hair dryer plug was unplugged but no matter how we searched there was nowhere to plug it in The cleaning was basically nonexistent, like the cleaner never came—just the comforter shaken out and left. Dust everywhere in the room. I pulled apart the monitor to find an outlet and dust flew into the air (my eyelids swelled from allergic rhinitis) As soon as I folded back the blanket the sheet was covered in what looked like dandruff or dead skin Pillow stains yellowed through from someone's sweat I lay down on the bed with the comforter and started getting itchy all over The window doesn’t close properly (the screen was torn) Mold everywhere — the bathroom door threshold covered in mold, wallpaper discolored with yellowish moisture, mold in every corner The lower molding where the room and bathroom connect is rotted and coming apart from moisture Ants crawling around the room (kept appearing) The air conditioner had splatters stuck to it that looked like blood or coffee Everything in the room made me doubt whether it had been cleaned at all Worst of all was the lingering cigarette smell in the hallway and room that gave me a headache I think the no-food policy exists because leftover food would attract ants and cockroaches If you’re not coming alone and only plan to sleep cheaply, I recommend paying an extra 10,000–20,000 won and going somewhere else My schedule was delayed so I had to stay one more night. I told myself I could endure it and just sleep no matter how shabby it was, but I ended up running out of the lodging for the first time in my life I learned the hard way that price isn’t everything. From now on, unless the photos and reviews prove the place is new and clean, don’t go. I learned this for about 20,000 won, very cheap lesson ^^
