Hotel RIL, Gwangju (formerly Luxury Hotel)

It has been remodeled so it is clean, but there is a bit of a new building smell.

I visited in a hurry, but since it is newly built I was pleased with the facilities and cleanliness.

First of all, it is very clean.! There was, of course, no cigarette smell. The bath and toilet are separate and spacious, so there was no inconvenience. The provided breakfast was also satisfactory. In the morning I eat lightly and have an iced coffee, but on days when scrambled eggs were served I overeat haha I would visit again.

The front desk staff were friendly, and maybe because it just opened, everything was really clean. They upgraded my room, so I was assigned one with a massage chair. It was so spacious and the bed so large that I felt bad using it alone, and the TV was impressively big. I personally liked the scents of the body wash and soap, and the faucet sprayed water in a very soft mist which felt nice. The hairdryer has a high-speed digital motor, so it dried my long hair quickly, which I appreciated. There was also a styler, which was practical. The room had an air purifier, so there was no new-furniture smell. Disposable items are not provided in the room, so bring your own if needed, but there are disposable slippers, a nightgown, bottled water, and capsule coffee. Breakfast is served in the neighboring building and had a good selection—salad, rice, eggs, side dishes, soup, bread, fruit, and coffee—and it was all tasty. The massage chair would not turn on at first, but the front desk helped me; you have to press and hold the power button for several seconds to turn it on. I had not used that model before, so I didn’t know. The hotel is within walking distance of Sangmu Station and located in a busy area, so there are restaurants, bars, and convenience stores nearby, which was convenient. This was my first business trip to Gwangju, and I had a pleasant stay.

Feels similar to a well-maintained well-known franchise and the facilities are very good. A peculiar thing is that the water pressure gets stronger as you raise the water temperature, so to feel strong pressure you would have to get scalded; the water pressure weakens as you lower the temperature.

Maybe because it was remodeled and newly reopened, it feels nice.
