A Korean cultural property preserved in the heart of Seoul. Jecheondan, also known as 'Hwandan' or 'Wongudan,' is a Confucian ritual site where kings offered sacrifices to the heavens. It was constructed in 1897 as a three-story octagonal structure with three drum-shaped plaster sculptures.
Accessible location to reach 'Myeongdong' on foot
A great location for sightseeing and shopping. It is a 5-minute walk from City Hall Station on subway lines 1 and 2 and is located next to Myeongdong. You can tour Deoksugung Palace, which preserves the history of the Joseon Dynasty and modern times, attend cultural events at Seoul Plaza, and shop at Lotte Department Store Young Plaza in Myeongdong.
