    Majestic main gate of the Joseon Dynasty king

    The main gate of Changdeokgung Palace, the largest of the palace gates. It was built in 1412 and named meaning 'strengthening education'. It was burned down during the Imjin War and rebuilt in 1609 to its current form before being designated a national treasure in 1963. The two-story, pavilion-shaped wooden structure is located in the southwest and is known for its stunning red plum blossoms and autumn leaves in the spring and fall, respectively.
