Street Food, Sea Views & Soju: A Night Out in Busan

When the warm breeze starts to blow, there's one place you simply have to visit — Pojangmacha (포장마차 | Korean street food stalls)! Busan, with its mild climate and seaside charm, is home to some truly unique Pojangmacha streets. If you want to experience Busan's nightlife on your trip, this is the place to be. Beloved by locals long before travelers discovered them, these streets are the perfect spot to soak in that unmistakable Busan vibe! ⛱️

Grilled Clams

Amnam Park 🦪

Looking for a spot loved by Busan locals? Let us introduce Amnam Park in Seo-gu. Along the shoreline of Songdo Beach, with views of the cable car and dramatic coastal cliffs, you'll find a row of grilled shellfish pojangmacha in the park's parking lot. Don't let the modest size fool you — the seafood here is anything but small. Expect your table to be filled with giant scallops, abalone, octopus, sea squirt, and mussels, fresh and generously portioned.

📍 179-20, Amnamgongwon-ro, Seo-gu, Busan ✅ Grill the scallops over a charcoal fire until golden, then enjoy them with melted cheese or chogochujang (Korean spicy dipping sauce)!

Evening Dining with a Harbor View

Yeongdo Pocha Street ⛴️

Yeongdo Pocha Street boasts a scenery found nowhere else in Korea — or the world. Set against Busan's historic harbor, this stretch of street food stalls was once a well-kept local secret before gaining wider fame through TV appearances. The sight of meat sizzling on the grill, the calm sea, and a skyline dotted with boats of all sizes come together to create a truly one-of-a-kind atmosphere. This is the kind of romance only Busan can offer. ✨

📍 79, Bongnaenaru-ro, Yeongdo-gu, Busan ✅ At 8 PM, the lights of Busan Bridge come on. Grab a seat facing the bridge for the best view!

Seafood by the Sea

Gijang Hangni Breakwater Pocha

Ready to go deeper into local Busan? Welcome to the pojangmacha street of Hangni, a small fishing village in Gijang-gun. One side of each stall opens directly onto the sea, offering a breathtaking view. Still largely unknown even among Koreans, this is a true locals-only hidden gem. Against the backdrop of a peaceful fishing village, enjoy fresh sea squirt, abalone, and sea cucumber — along with Gijang's pride, grilled eel.

📍 101, Hangnideungdae-ro, Ilgwang-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan ✅ It's a bit far from the city center, so we recommend taking a taxi or booking a hotel nearby.

Where Locals Actually Eat

Beomil-dong Pocha Street 🍜

Beomil-dong is just two subway stops from Seomyeon, Busan's largest city center. The pojangmacha street here is where locals come for everyday dining, giving it a more humble, down-to-earth menu than most. The undisputed star of the street is Orai-Men, a Japanese ramen spot that serves just 100 bowls a day. In the middle of Busan's Beomil-dong, you might just feel like you've been transported to another country.

📍 23, Busanjinseonggongwon-ro, Dong-gu, Busan ✅ If you take a taxi, tell the driver: Please take me to the KT building in Beomil-dong. (in Korean, 범일동 KT 앞으로 가주세요)

✏️ Pojangmacha Tips

✔️ Choosing a stall: Overwhelmed by the row of options? Most pojangmacha on the same street share similar menus and prices, so simply pick the one with the best view. The same food always tastes better with a great backdrop. ✔️ Restrooms: There are no restrooms inside the stalls. Use the facilities at a nearby public building or subway station. ✔️ Prices & menu: If you can't find menu or prices, simply ask the staff for help.
