Haedong Yonggungsa Temple

This temple is said to grant anyone one wish if they pray sincerely enough. It has a long history, having been founded in 1376 by Monk Naong, a teacher of King Gongmin. It is famous as one of the three temples dedicated to the Goddess Buddha in Korea and the closest temple to the sea in Korea. It boasts stunning scenery with peaceful buildings and stone pagodas such as Daeungbojeon Hall, Jinsin Saira Pagoda, and Guanyin Goddess of Mercy. The temple is also home to the Academic Success Buddha, the Buddha of granting a son, 108 Longevity Stairs, and Yongmungyo Bridge, where you can throw coins under the bridge for good luck. Even if Buddhism isn't your practice, we still suggest paying a visit and making a wish.
